Pandemic Covid-19 that affected negatively the global economy did not bring obstacles to the exports of Brazilian pig iron.
Indeed, the 3.74 million tons shipped in 2020 represent the biggest tonnage exported since 2008. Total earnings with the exports reached 1.13 billion dollars.
The State of Minas Gerais contributed with 73.5% of the total amount, i. e., 2.75 million tons and 830 million dollars.
China, USA and Netherlands are the biggest buyers with emphasis on the first that bought 56.65% of Brazilian exports and 66.7% of the total exported by Minas Gerais.
