This amount of 366 tons means 35% less greenhouse gases emissions.
The State of Minas Gerais is the largest producer of charcoal from planted forests in Brazil. Added to iron ore, the charcoal produces pig iron, raw material for steel manufacturing.

Carboraad

The kit is a program for the control and simulation of the carbonization process called Carboraad

The program, developed by the engineer Túlio Jardim Raad, replaces the traditional method to produce charcoal.

Carboraad has already been used in medium and large charcoal manufacturers and, with the Sustainable Steelworks Project, it was installed, free of charge, in small charcoal productions, increasing productivity and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Diretor e sócio fundador da Ecocarb, Túlio Jardim Raad – ECOCARB / DIVULGAÇÃO

Ecocarb

Ecocarb is a startup in Minas Gerais, with its head-office in the District of São Pedro, in Belo Horizonte.
It is the only Brazilian startup with focus in the development of technologies for charcoal production.
The group holds three startups focused on charcoal: Ecocarb Technologies; Vieira & Raad, producer of content for projects and studies on charcoal; and Ecocarvão, charcoal and condensed volatiles producer.
Condensed volatiles are produced from the smoke emitted by charcoal production.

(Fonte: O TEMPO – 24/05/2021)

O Kit Siderurgia Sustentável foi criado pela Ecocarb – Eco Consultoria e Agronegócios – contratada por licitação pelo Programa das Nações Unidas para o Desenvolvimento (PNUD), no Projeto Siderurgia Sustentável.
